Healthcare professionals understand better than most the importance of excellent care for the moments that matter most. This includes our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Carolina Escobar. Dr. Escobar brings actual cancer care experience to the role of CMO.
Dr. Escobar is responsible for the quality of both Cancer Care Direct and SurgeryPlus. She uses her years of experience and her clinical standards to define the protocols and guidelines for both offerings.
Outside of EDH, Dr. Escobar serves as a fellowship trained stem cell transplant specialist practicing at Texas Oncology in Dallas, Texas. She’s also a clinical assistant professor for Baylor Scott and White and Texas A&M, holding board certifications in internal medicine, oncology, and hematology.
Dr. Loren Bio Originally from Connecticut, Loren Rourke, MD is a fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist. Dr. Loren has dedicated her career to ensuring patients receive exceptional care in a compassionate and informative atmosphere. Dr. Loren completed her general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, the Susan G. Komen Interdisciplinary Breast Fellowship at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, and most recently Master’s in Health Care Management from the Harvard T.C. Chan School of Public Health as part of her pursuit to broaden her business understanding of the current healthcare landscape. She previously served as the Chief Surgical Officer and VP of Clinical Operations for McKesson’s US Oncology Network followed by the SVP and Chief Medical Officer of Sure Inc. Dr. Loren lives in The Woodlands, Texas with her 12-year-old twins and 3 cats. She loves Ballroom & Latin dancing, gardening, and reading books and is excited to be joining the EDHC team!
